Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"A surprising gem. The staff and, especially, the chef made us feel like we were privately invited. The cocktails, salads, sides, and steaks were all delicious and perfectly prepared. Everyone had a passion for service and it showed."
"I came in for the first time and loved everything about this place! The sunburst smoked trout dip is not only local, but very VERY good! I also had the creamy mashed potatoes and they were excellent as well! Service was great and so was the selection of local brews. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner out! I felt very accommodated."
"We woke up hungry and could smell the breakfast coming down the elevator. Walked in an were met immediately by our server Autumn. Smiling and so friendly and efficient it would have been a pleasure if the food wasn't delicious... but it was! So awesome to come down from your room and start off your travel day with such great food and attitudes! We will be back. And thumbs up to Autumn!"
"I came to eat breakfast before I went to work downtown. It was quiet, which was nice. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with a milk and oatmeal for my side. The eggs were PERFECTLY poached. I didn't care for the ham, which wasn't their fault, I just prefer salty country ham. The oatmeal was made perfect, as well. There is a $6 breakfast bar, which is the typical continental breakfast, as well. The service was great. This place is located in the Four Points by Sheraton."
"I ate here and didn't look up the reviews until after. I'm not sure what was going on earlier in the year, maybe they were changing management/staff? I have the black bean quinoa ball was AWESOME!! I was here about 2 years ago and the food was great then also. The menu has changed though, as people have said. I actually came because I wanted some pasta, but they only have it on Sunday. I am really sorry some of the commenters had such a horrible experience, but my food was excellent."
"Our Shag club is meeting here weekly and the food is so good. We really enjoy our weekly dances here!"
"I was planning to take someone on a date in Asheville. I knew I wanted a steak, and I didn't want it from a chain. When this place popped up, the menu looked great, but I was nervous about the reviews. Thankfully, my date encouraged me to try it, even though he had never been there before either. When we got there, I did wait a couple minutes at the host stand before being noticed. There were several patrons at the bar, a couple in a table in the back half, and a gentleman drinking wine by the bar. One of the people from the bar walked out and saw me and hollered that they had someone. It wasn't the best service, but I imagine they don't get much business because of the reviews, so they serve their regulars at the bar. While I was waiting, there was a server (Hannah?) who was straightening the back half. She ended up being our server. My date asked what kind of whisky was served. "All kinds." He asked for an Evan Williams and she had to come back and say they did not have that. He got a Jack Daniels, but it was blonde, possibly had some water in it, which he did not request. He enjoyed it, though. He ordered the chicken and I ordered the filet mignon . Both were incredible. My steak was absolutely delicious. I ordered it medium rare, because I wasn't sure if they would overcook it. They did - it came out just over medium, slightly more done than I would have liked. But the demi glace and the crispy outside, tender inside made up for it. The flavor was amazing. I did pay for a $4.50 sweet potato, which was a little much, but overall I had a great experience. Our server made sure we had what we needed and the food was great. I want to encourage other reviewers to refrain from leaving 1 star reviews when they haven't visited - to leave a 1 star review and say that the other reviews kept you from visiting is damaging to a restaurant you've never tried. There is definite room for improvement, but overall the atmosphere was romantic and the food was delicious. Thank you!"
"This place me and my family went to, we happened to get there right at opening which is the best! You know the food is going to be good because there’s nobody else there to put heavy pressure on the kitchen staff and the atmosphere will be relaxed indefinitely. The waitress first off was fantastic, and the drinks she made were 10/10 delicious, but the food was pretty good at best. I had the Philly cheesesteak and it was mediocre at best. South of Philly on tunnel road, and bold rock downtown both have a drastically better cheesesteak. Everyone else in my family their food was good, the wings are TINY, the flavor was 300% bigger than the physical size of the wing. Overall, the place is nice and the staff is very friendly and good to converse with but there are better meals to be had at drastically cheaper prices elsewhere especially in Asheville being such a foodie town."
